Putting a decisive last-to-first move in the stretch, Winter Park Partners’ Zetterholm (Silver Train) scored a victory – his third straight – in his stakes debut on Friday afternoon in Aqueduct’s one-mile, $75,000 Patsyprospect Stakes for New York-bred three-year-olds.

After just one race at Calder at two for trainer Steve DiMauro and a move to Rick Dutrow, Jr. for his sophomore campaign, Zetterholm went into the Patsyprospect with three strong starts at Aqueduct under his belt, including back to back late-rallying maiden and allowance wins in state-bred company on February 4 and March 4.

Second choice of five on Friday under Junior Alvarado at odds of 1.75-1, Zetterholm spent the first three-quarters of a mile of the Patsyprospect rating in last, while early leader, long shot Cat Paws, took the field through the first half-mile before ceding the front spot to 6-5 favorite Sportswriter in the far turn.

Alvarado angled Zetterholm into the four path at the top of the lane and asked for run around the three-sixteenths marker. Zetterholm promptly obliged, passing three rivals lined up across the track and then breezing by Sportswriter in the final seventy yards before opening up to a 2 1/4-length victory under a mild hand ride.
